Jobs @ GBE Energy

Team Operations Lead

Description

GBE Energy is an established energy trading firm with offices in Calgary and Whiterock, BC. We’re hiring a Team Operations Lead to keep our Calgary office running smoothly while supporting a small, high-performing team.

This is a hands-on role focused on internal logistics, team support, and administrative coordination. It’s a great fit for someone who’s organized, dependable, and ready to take ownership in a fast-paced, professional environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations in Calgary (supplies, workspace setup, vendor coordination)
  • Coordinate with building management, IT providers, service vendors, and industry partners
  • Maintain internal systems and documentation
  • Support onboarding (workspace setup, documentation, account creation)
  • Coordinate onboarding paperwork, employee records, and support HR processes in collaboration with leadership
  • Track receipts and expenses, and assist with invoice processing
  • Support leadership with calendar coordination and occasional travel booking
  • Assist with internal communications and team event planning
  • Provide light remote support to the Whiterock office (ordering, scheduling, vendor contact)

Who You Are

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — you keep things running without being asked
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Enjoy being the go-to person others rely on
  • Have experience in office coordination, admin, or team operations
  • You may not have had “Lead” in your title before — and that’s okay. You’re ready for more

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in admin, office support, or internal operations
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
  • Experience with ChatGPT, Notion, and Humi (or similar tools) is a plus
  • Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities independently
  • Bonus: background in trading, finance, or professional services environments

Work Environment

This is a primarily in-person role based at our Calgary office. We're a collaborative, hands-on team, and your presence is key to keeping things running smoothly. That said, we understand the value of flexibility and are open to occasional work-from-home days where appropriate.

Education

  • Diploma or certificate in Office Admin, Business Admin, HR, or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus, not a must

What We Offer

  • A professional, focused, and supportive work environment
  • Real ownership in your role and the ability to shape how things run
  • Competitive salary, predictable hours, and long-term growth potential
